Corpus Christi

Caroline loved the beach. She did not want anyone to hold onto her or restrict her in the water, which of course is not possible. My child has no fear, and it is not a good thing!

The pictures do not do the beach justice. It is actually quite nice for Texas. The sand is very light and the water is a clear green. There are two sandbars near shore, I even waded out to them which is saying a lot since I usually don't go past knee deep.

She loved the jungle gym type environment of the ship. All the stairs were fun for her, not so much for me!
Texas State Aquarium
Justin went to Corpus for business, so Caroline and I joined him. He had one day off so we went to the beach and toured the USS Lexington on his day off. The other two days Caroline and I shoppped around town, went out onto the island, discovered a local water park, and visited the Texas State Aquarium.

Overall, we had a nice time. It was great to get away, eat seafood, and see new sights. It also brought back memories, since Port Aransas was a frequent mini vacation my family took as I was growing up.

I am thrilled to be back however, as Caroline was totally off her schedule and did not want to sleep in the hotel crib that seemed a lot like a jail cell. The second night she screamed so loud due to hating her crib and being way over tired that security was called to make sure she was not being beaten. The drive to and from Corpus was surprisingly not too terrible. We took frequent stops, which I hate but they are necessary with a baby, and Caroline slept often in the car.
