Family Date Night
Friday night I begged Justin to take us to Cedar Hill to the outdoor shopping area. If you haven't been out there, it is really nice and has great areas for children to play. Once I got there, I realized little shopping would be taking place so we just let Caroline loose!

Old Friends
Larry, Curly, and Moe...The Three Amigos, these were just two names of the many names I can recall us being called as children. Lindsey, Kellen, and I were neighbors, and we were best friends growing up.
Kellen and Lindsey were born neighbors and I moved into the neighborhood around age 4. A new girl moving into the neighborhood didn't sit too well with these two, and when I tried to join their friendship they made it clear they wanted none of that. They pulled my hair, served me drips of soda compared to their full cups, and basically outright bullied me. We laugh about it now, but man I must have been a tough one to continue to want to play with them... that or just desperate. Eventually they accepted me and we never looked back. We spent most of our elementary school years swimming, jumping on the trampoline, singing NKOTB songs, playing sister sister (most call it house), competing in Monopoly, running around the neighborhood, dreaming of Rider Strong (the cute boy from Boy Meets World), and all sorts of other things! As we got older we all developed different interests and migrated towards different groups, however, we still maintained our friendship. Even though we didn't hang out daily, we talked regularly throughout high school and I always considered these girls true friends.
Lindsey and I both went to Tech so we saw each other through college. I would love to run into her because we always recalled old memories and laughed about the past.
As time passed and we entered the real world, we all communicated less and less until we only kept up with one another on facebook or random run ins.
Recently, we decided that was unacceptable so we set a date for dinner. Tonight was the night, and we had a blast. We probably could have talked for hours upon hours, but I had to return to my family.

We recalled the pet hedgehog, Felix, who we all believed was a boy until one day he birthed three live young, dreamed of swimming for hours on end as we used to, and wondered what really happened to those pets our parents claimed "escaped and ran away." Basically we laughed and brought back happy memories of our childhood. I love these girls and am so happy to have spent an evening catching up on our lives now. We all seem to be doing pretty well, and we all left looking forward to our next dinner!

Moms Gone WILD
This weekend 5 of my best friends and me took a road trip to Horseshoe Bay and stayed at the Petersen's fabulous lake house. Now when I say lake house, think more like 5 star resort.... their place is unbelievable, and they are so kind to open it up to so many!
This trip has been in the works for a while and we had our events all planned out. We were pumped about 3 hours of car time, which equaled three hours of uninterrupted conversation. You don't get that much being moms of toddlers and babies.
Saturday we got up and went to the pool and beach right on the lake. It was beautiful and so nice to have drinks and food by the lake!
Fine looking ladies...my friends are beauties!
Yummy drinks!
Later that afternoon we got yogurt then headed back the house to get ready for some fine dining!
Paige and me!
Kristen and Regina!
Breathtaking view and sunset!
All of us ladies!
We're a fun group!

More sunset!
Kristen, Paige, Amy!
Dinner that night was incredible, well everything but the disgusting lemon drop martinis that were unbearable at our old age. We ate at the Yacht Club down by the lake.
The martinis made for good pictures at least. The food was delicious and it was a treat to take our time and enjoy every bite. Once again, a rare happening with young ones around!
We all got up this morning and were sad to leave, but excited and ready to get back to the great men and adorable children we left at home. Nothing re energizes you like a great weekend away.

Although we called our trip moms gone wild, there was nothing wild about it...just pure relaxation. Not much can beat a trip with best friends!
