Spit Up

I took Caroline to the doctor yesterday due to her spit up. She has begun to exhibit some signs that indicate she is in pain after she eats. She will then spit up incredible amounts and seems to be fine. At the doctor she weighed 11 lbs 11.5 oz. He recommended a sonogram on her stomach to make sure there is not a serious condition. I don't think there is and neither does he, but it is good to be on the safe side. After the sonogram, he will be able to determine fully that it is reflux and give her some medication that will hopefully help. Justin is taking her next Wednesday for the sonogram. We pray all will go well!

Poor thing! Collin had reflux bad too! And he still spits up occassionally! Let me know if they prescribe you Axid... I have a free sample that's never been opened, if you want me to mail it to you.

And I haven't read Bring the Rain in awhile, because it *always* makes me cry! But sometimes, that's good to do, I think. Another good one is: http://www.mycharmingkids.net/. Her son is due to be born via C-section on October 29th and they don't know if he will live or not. WOW.

Hey Allison,

Caroline will be just fine. Just refer to my post from last week. Caleb had SEVERE reflux and is finally outgrowing it. The specialist told us that he didn't care about the spit-up as long as he gained weight and as long as he wasn't in pain... That's what the medicine will help with! I am practically an expert by now, so let me know if you have any questions. ;)

our pedi put kynli on axid recently. i was skeptical to get it because she has been doing really well with the spit up(only a little bit every few feedings) and gas lately but i went ahead and got the prescription filled just in case. i have only given it to her one day so i dont know if it really works or not, but i have heard that it is pretty good stuff. maybe it will work for caroline. hope everything goes well next week. i will be thinking of yall!

Cru had to have a sonogram too. Are they looking for pyloric stenosis? That is what they tested Cru for and of course he did not have it but she said sometimes it is even better if they do because even though they have to have surgery to fix it, once they do it is done. Anyways, I will have yall in my prayers!
