Today was a long day. I woke up at 5, got myself ready, and then fed and got Caroline ready. We were off at 7 AM for our day. I dropped her off and headed to school. Being a working mom is hard work. I was overwhelmed from the moment I stepped into the building. Teaching is a never ending job, but I must learn to cut it off somewhere. Today was fine and my kids at school were great. My sub really cared about the kids, and I can tell they bonded with her. I felt more like the sub today. I had to ask my kids which bathroom they used after PE and recess, and I had to ask what they had completed and not finished. They kept calling me by the sub's name and kept asking when she would return. I kind of felt betrayed, but I understand because they have been with her for practically the entire year.
Justin had to pick up Caroline today because I had class this afternoon. The sitter told Justin that we need to give the other parents some tips on sleep. I guess we have gotten pretty good at our daily sleep schedule. Great book...thanks Paige for the recommendation. Mondays and Thursdays are going to be the worst because I don't get home until after 8 and Caroline is usually asleep. On these days I will cherish those midnight feedings and early mornings.

Good luck with going back to work. It is hard- I know! I work also and it is difficult sometimes, but it helps when you like your job (which I do and it sounds like you do as well!) Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before you know it!
Hooray for healthy sleep habits!! My mom finally found me a copy at b&n the other day since I had to give my borrowed copy back. That must have been great to hear because so many parents struggle with sleep patterns and schedules. You will probably be giving me tips with this next baby! I'm glad your day went well and it wont take long until your kids feel like your's and not your sub's.
