Two weeks ago my sweet little family and I went to Lubbock for the Texas Tech Spring Football game. I really love football, grew up around it, and have developed a huge addiction and love to Texas Tech football. Justin and I have talked repeatedly about getting season tickets, but that won't be happening anytime soon. Since it has been a while since we witnessed football in person and will be until the fall to see the real deal, we decided to take in one last weekend in Lubbock. Also, my brother recently sold his house in Lubbock, so our last official tie to the place is about to cut :(. We had to take in one final weekend before all we have is gone and in our past. It was beautiful weekend, perfect for football and fun in the sun. Well, beautiful until we woke up Sunday morning, but more about that later. The game was nothing more than a glorified practice, but Caroline loved the band, cheerleaders, and masked rider, and Justin and I got our football fix for a bit.

Walking into the game we practically walked right into the new basketball coach, Billy Gillispie. I had my camera out snapping away, but quickly put it down when I realized I looked stupid considering we were three feet apart and I had failed to say anything. Justin did go up and shake his hand. This is the best I got, he probably didn't want an up close random head shot.
Caroline has a new obsession with snakes and walking into the game she kept saying, "Daddy, there's no skanks in Lubbock." We got a good laugh out of that.
At half time we stepped outside the stadium and got a picture with the Masked Rider.
After the game they opened the field for a meet and greet. I got Caroline to do my dirty work and take the poster up to the players to sign. She even walked right up and hugged a couple, leading to some cute pics. She picked a good player to hug, this guy is pretty talented and should start in the fall.

Caroline loved running and rolling all over the field.
Following the meet and greet we walked the campus and took pictures around the beautiful tulips that are planted every spring. It looked gorgeous, but you can tell it is very dry. Lubbock and all of west Texas needs rain badly.
Mid-day sun is not the best for pics, but we did the best we could.
Sunday we woke up to head home and realized a cold front had come through and it was 35 degrees. 35 degrees and all we had were spring clothes. The forecast had predicted high seventies all weekend. I kept Caroline in her PJs and I just had to look like a fool wearing a sleeveless dress and flip flops. We stopped to eat in Abilene and I didn't even change Caroline then. Her PJs were much warmer than the shorts and tank I brought her. Since it was right after church time, we ate with many in their Sunday best....needless to say we got a few stares and some weird looks. Oh well.
