Honestly, with Caroline I was a nervous wreck, so nervous and afraid of the what ifs that I had a hard time enjoying the infant stage. I couldn't wait for her to be big enough to do this or that....big enough to where I would not have to worry about one thing or another. With Baby Carter I'm at peace, I'm living in the moment and relishing the joy a new baby brings.
At two months, Carter is holding his head up well and smiling frequently. Tuesday night he giggled for the first time, and since I've been doing everything I can to catch it on video. While I'm at work he takes 3-4 40z bottles, and when I'm at home he nurses every 2-3 hours. He still wakes frequently at night, sometimes we will get a 4-5 hour stretch, but usually he wakes every 2-3 hours. He is still sleeping beside our bed, I plan to move him into his crib over Christmas break.Today he had his 2 month check up. He weighed 13.1 lbs, which seemed huge to me, but the doctor said that was in the 50th percentile. He was 23 inches long, which was in the 75th percentile. I can't remember his head size, but it was 75th percentile too. Everything looked great, with one minor concern about his left eye and how it tracks. The doctor said it would probably correct itself by four months. He got all of his shots, and he was not happy and hasn't been too pleasant since.
Caroline is a proud big sister and I'm proud of her. She loves him so, and shows that with her everyday actions and affection toward him.
A smile!!
Well that's about it for now, we are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Hope all is merry and bright at your house this Christmas season.
