San Antonio

After leaving the river we headed north to San Antonio! We have season passes to Six Flags, which are also good at Fiesta Texas so we decided to check it out. Caroline is also at a good age to travel, no diapers, no stroller, and she eats what we eat.

Fiesta Texas has a great children's section, and an even better water park within the park. They have the best kids area for a water park that I've ever been to.

Our little dare devil Caroline, of course loved it all. You can see her with her arms up on the roller coaster.

The next day we went to Sea World. Being a teacher definitely has many perks and one of them is that Sea World offered free season passes to educators. I got in totally free and can continue to return all season. It actually ended up being a reasonable day because they also let you bring in your own food.

Our first stop was the dolphins. The dolphins were friendly and would swim right up to us.

Caroline got a big kick out of feeding them, getting her to leave this section proved to be a challenge.

Sea World has a great Sesame Street area called the Bay of Play. Inside that area there is a 4 D show with all the Sesame Street characters. I thought it was cool, Caroline just preferred to rest and play with her glasses.

Next we headed over to the Sea Lion area. The Sea Lion show was funny and everyone loved it.

However, feeding those loud creatures was even better.

The splash park was a hit with Caroline! Sea World literally has everything...a water park, splash park, rides, shows, and a tons of cool animals.

Finally, it was time for the Shamu show. They only had one showing on this day and it was actually the final showing for the show Believe. Sea World introduced a new show the very next day. Caroline loved watching it, but the loud noise was a bit too much.

I felt the show had been a bit watered down from what I remember when I was a kid, but then again I was a kid. I guess due to recent accidents, the trainers no longer ride on the whale or get in the water at all. All in all, it was still amazing to see a creature this big in person.

Although we were totally pooped and very hot, Caroline saw the ducks and had to feed them. The ducks and our flamingos were our final exhibit of a very tiring but fun two days!

We just got back from Sea World too & I was so impressed with how much there was to do. It's like they combined that, Six Flags & Hurricane Harbor all in one. We're hoping to make it back at least 1 more time before our passes run out.
