A week filled with rocking on the front porch overlooking this view.
A week filled with being in awe of the natural beauty that is Texas hill country.
A week spent going barefoot
and swinging, swinging, and more swinging.
Of course there is lots of swimming, or this year wading! The drought is really taking a toll on the river.
Us adults preferred to set up our lawn chairs and lounge in the water.
Caroline, Charlie and Macie explored, built dams, threw rocks, and splashed.

There were many deer and other wild life sightings, and evenings spent spreading deer corn.
Caroline enjoyed late night slumber parties in the top bunk while the adults gathered around the Mavs game...
and just lots of good cousin and family time.
If you know anything about me, you know there was more than enough food and time set aside to eat,
snack,
and eat,
and eat some more. One night Justin prepared a shrimp boil, it doesn't get much better than that!
It wouldn't be a complete river trip without a bean bag toss competition.
As for me, I just follow everyone around snapping pictures any chance I get. I think I take more pictures on this trip than I do all year round.
The landscape and background is so beautiful,
Caroline is happy and full of awe at whats around her,
family is everywhere,
everyone is relaxed and having a good time,
which typically means smiles are abundant....
and picture perfect moments are easy to capture.________
We left bright and early Wednesday morning already planning for the year to come.
(Don't ask me why every picture Justin and I take when traveling portrays us as tacky tourists. We just don't pull off the relaxed, beachy look too well. HA!)
