A few quick updates....
Tomorrow is my last teaching day of 2010, time sure flies. I am halfway through my seventh year of teaching. Wow! Each year my mother in law adopts all my students and prepares them a gift with all sorts of goodies. I look forward to surprising them and can't wait to hear the reaction tomorrow!
Caroline is on the brink of being potty trained. While at home, she only wears panties and has had few accidents and will even go to the potty on her own. It is crazy, it's just like it clicked overnight. I have yet to send her to school in panties, I think I might take that leap after Christmas. To all you other mommies out there, when did you feel comfortable taking your newly potty trained child in public without a diaper? I am still a bit afraid of public toilets and the
hassle all that might entail.
Lastly, my silly dog Boomer has become quite the nuisance lately. As most of you know he is diabetic and on a very strict diet. As anyone who has been on a diet knows, when you are restricted you crave everything. Well, that must be the case for my big ole' yellow lab because Monday he raided three tins of cookies, each holding over a dozen cookies. My mom and Caroline ran a brief errand and when they returned they discovered the incident. To make matters worse, he had jumped on top of my stove to get the tins which were set at the very back and while doing so managed to ignite two burners. When my mom walked into the house she smelled something burning! Thank God nothing caught fire! We were just left with cookie crumbs, ruined Christmas goodies for friends and
neighbors, a broken fruit bowl, and high
maintenance Boomer needing to go out every 30 minutes and drinking gallons and gallons of water due to his high blood sugar.
