Kindergarten!!!

My beautiful little girl on her first day of kinder! I am so proud of her and how well she is doing in kinder. She was very nervous. Prior to the first day she had two opportunities to visit the school and during both she was the only child who cried. I was terrified the first day would require the teacher restraining Caroline while we ran out the door. Luckily for us and for her, it was a simple drop off and out the door. My dad gave her a good tip, "Caroline, help those who may feel scared or sad."  That's exactly what she did. My little mother hen looked out for others and completely forgot about her own nerves.  Her teacher has bragged on her several times about how she takes care of and watches out for others. Love this little girl's heart.
Academically she is doing ok. She is left handed and her fine motor skills definitely need some work, but overall I've been proud of her basic reading and math.  We have a teacher conference coming up in October and I'm feeling anxious about it. It's weird how being an educator all these years I felt the parent had all control, and now that I'm on the other side I feel so inferior and out of control.

What great advice from Justin! I'm glad she's doing well!
