Celebrating 5!

Look at this little girl, that can't be my baby, where has the time gone?  Our beautiful, kind, loving girl turned 5 yesterday.  This weekend we took time to celebrate. Saturday us ladies visited the American Girl store and ate at the bistro. What a treat. We had a great time!  As you can tell, the doll Caroline needed some grooming so our first stop was the hair salon.

She looked oh so much better after a little time in the chair and I learned some much needed tricks for grooming this girl's mane.  She is high maintenance, that is for sure.
After the beauty salon, Caroline picked out some matching pajamas for her and the doll Caroline and then we headed over the the Bistro. I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was.  The doll joins you at the table and even gets her own glass of pink lemonade.

After we ate, Caroline was surprised with a cake!  Yum!!!

We really enjoyed our time at American Girl and I recommend the experience to anyone with young girls.
We are having Caroline and Carter's birthday  party together in August, so I thought we could do a family celebration Sunday for Caroline.  We busted out the ole slip n slide and bounce house and had some family backyard fun.
Caroline was so  kind to help Carter get the hang of sliding. Surprisingly he loved it!

Now here is the crown cake that I made. I'll be taking orders shortly, I can already tell people will be lining up for my talent.  I must say, it might not look great, but it tasted fabulous!  Can't go wrong with funfetti cake.

Caroline got tons of doll clothes and accessories, just what she wanted.

This picture below was taken on her actual birthday right before her soccer practice.  Sigh, I just love her.  This little girl is growing up before our eyes. How I love her so much. She is such a fabulous big sister and friend.  She has a giving heart and a joyful demeanor.  It's not rare for her to stop what she is doing and just say, "I love you."  She adores her family will defend us if she thinks someone is not treating us right. She has her moments of complete stubbornness,is extremely goal oriented, and strong willed. She has difficulty accepting no, but I am sure that will pay dividends later in life, at least I am hoping.  It's hard to believe I'll be sending our sweet baby to kinder this year. I hope the world is kind to this girl!  We love you to the moon, beautiful little lady!
