Ready for Move In

We got our green tag! Our final green tag means we can officially begin moving in! I am so proud of my husband I could burst. He literally organized, designed, planned, did some manual labor, and coordinated funding for our new home, all on top of a full time job. He is amazing!! I pretty much over saw his work, got frustrated when things didn't come through on time (probably not the best thing to do), cleaned a bit, and mostly did my best to support every decision he made and ease the stress. He did it all, he is incredible!
One of my favorite parts of the home is the stone fireplace. It is beautiful and gives such a warm vibe.
Entry area with the dining room to the right.
No the house isn't landscaped yet, but we aren't too worried about that. We also never got around to the shutters, but they will come. You know, we have the rest of our lives to make this house our perfect home. :)
You see that lovely handrail, it's beautiful, homemade, and the neighbors admire it as they stroll around the cul de sac. The city forced us to put up a handrail because there is apparently some city code about having more than four steps and having a handrail. Well, our entire neighborhood is filled with houses with dozens of steps and NO handrail. We got a huge stickler, rule follower inspector and he insisted that we have handrail. Now we have no desire to have a handrail and didn't want to spend tons of money on one, so Justin just crafted his own. This handrail will be coming down ASAP, or we might just wait and see how long it takes to get a letter from the home owners association.
I'm out for now, we are going to get busy moving on in!

Oh I can't wait to see more pictures! I love the paint... is it red or orange around the fireplace? And is that other room painted a dark brown? LOVE IT!! Maybe the next time we're up in your direction, we can come by and see it in person.

Gorgeous home! I am so proud of Justin, I know what it takes to build a home since Zach built for a couple of years. Let alone building on the side. It must be such a relief to have it finished. I love the paint colors and the way the fire place turned out, it is just beautiful. I want to come see it again! The hand rail is hilarious! Oh and shutters are going to look so good when you get around to it! Can't wait to come play there!

Congratulations! Everything looks beautiful. And that's hilarious about the handrail. Honestly, I didn't even notice it until you said something about it. It's not nearly as bad as you think, but I completely understand the frustration of meeting rules and regulations when it's not something you want! Good luck with the moving, unpacking, and "making the house your home!"
