I had MAJOR scary mom moment number one this week, I really hope this is something that is not common around our household. Anyway, I was getting ready and Caroline was in the bathroom with me. She was sitting on the floor under the opposite sink playing with a shampoo bottle or something. All of a sudden, she reached down and grabbed the powder Comet can. Before I could get over to her and take it away she put it up to her mouth and dumped it out everywhere. I immediately picked her up and rinsed out her mouth and even tried to gag her to see if she would spit up anything she swallowed. Of course she would not spit up
(and she spits up often), but I did feel a little more comfortable because I did not see anything in her mouth. I put her down and watched her and she seemed fine, but I was still so worried. What if she did swallow some? I decided the best thing to do would be to play it safe and go ahead and call poison control. Poison control is awesome. I was instantly connected with someone and they told me that it was not a poison, and Comet is an irritant that might cause burning if ingested. They said since she was not crying she probably did not ingest anything. I cannot tell you how relieved I was when they told me she would be fine. I am glad poison control is around because with me, being the huge worrier that I am, I probably would have loaded Caroline up and taken her to the ER or something.
On another note, Justin and I are leaving tomorrow for Mexico. We are excited, but a little sad to leave Caroline. We are coming back on Monday so we are not gone too long. Caroline will be staying with Justin's mom, and my mom, and will spend Monday morning with Justin's Granny. She will be in great hands and probably have a great time. Thanks to all who are helping us with Caroline this weekend.

That is scary!! I wouldn't have known what to do. I'm glad it didn't turn out to be a huge deal.
Have fun in Mexico!
That is scary! Have a blast in Mexico :)
Have a great time and let's do some fun things when you get back! And get that taillight fixed so you can booze it up with me :)
Yikes! I'm glad it turned out ok. Note to self: have poison control's # programmed into my phone!
Man that is scary! I LOVE poion control too! I called them a few weeks ago because Kinsley got a motrin bottle open and I was not sure how much she got. I also was ready to load her up and take her to the ER but my mom convinced me to just call the PC. They also said it was nothing to worry about and called back and hour later to check on her.
